Meet Idony – Our New Piano Teacher at The Rock Academy

ree

Hiya! My name is Idony, and I am the new piano teacher at The Rock Academy. Having recently moved to Wellington from the UK, I’m thrilled to be part of the team and excited to bring music to students of all ages.

My Background & Experience

For the past decade, I have taught music to pupils of all ages and skill levels while studying and working as a music teacher and freelance musician in London. I hold a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree, a Master of Performance degree, and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education. Additionally, I achieved a Grade 8 Distinction in piano.

Teaching Approach & Musical Styles

I currently teach curriculum music in a primary school and have extensive experience playing and teaching a wide range of genres—from classical to rock, pop, and everything in between. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced musician, I’m here to help you develop your skills and love for music!

Lets Go!

Thanks for taking the time to read my introduction—I can’t wait to start this musical journey with you!
