From Good to Great: Young Singers Shining at The Rock Academy NZ Holiday Programme 🎤✨

One of the absolute highlights of our recent holiday programme was working with two incredibly talented 11-year-old singers who brought confidence, energy, and a real love of music with them from day one.

These two young performers already loved to sing — and it showed. They weren’t shy about stepping up to the mic, trying new songs, and giving it their all. That kind of confidence is something special. But what made the experience even more exciting was seeing just how quickly they improved with the right guidance.

On-the-Spot Vocal Coaching

During the programme, we gave them some focused singing tips “on the fly.” Nothing overwhelming — just a few key fundamentals that make a world of difference:

With just a few tweaks to how they were breathing and placing their voices, everything changed. Their breath support improved immensely, which meant their tone became stronger and more controlled. Suddenly, their voices carried more power — without strain. Notes were clearer. Phrases were smoother. Confidence grew even more.

They went from singing well… to singing great in a very short space of time.
