That is fantastic that your son (11) he is starting to teaching himself guitar! Not many people do this so he must really have some talent.

I could recommend Sam Freeman as your guitar teacher who lives in Lower Hutt. He is a very cool guitarist and really nice guy. He currently studies music at Whitireia Polytechnic. I’m not sure if you know much about the degree but it is probably the most rounded in the country. The students there learn all aspects of modern music including recording, theory, industry knowledge and much much more. The great thing about teachers with this sort of experience is that their pupils really benefit from all knowledge during the guitar lessons. On top of all that he is a very very good guitarist and the kids really dig him.
