Writer's picture: Geoff DayGeoff Day

We are thrilled to announce an upcoming event that promises to be a wonderful showcase of the talent and hard work of our students at The Rock Academy. We invite you to join us for our Pupil Concert on Sunday, September 22nd from 2pm to 4pm.

Inform us if you would like to perform so we can allocate a time slot for you.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, September 22nd

  • Time: 2pm – 4pm

  • Venue: Fringe Bar. 26-32 Allen Street, Te Aro

  • Performance: Each pupil will have the opportunity to perform one song. They can choose to perform solo, with a friend, or with their teacher.

  • Equipment Provided: We will have a keyboard, a guitar/bass amp, and microphones available on stage.

  • What to Bring: Drummers will need to bring their own drum kits, and guitarists/bassists should bring their own instruments.

Admission and Costs:

  • Door Charge: $5 per person. This fee will be used to cover the sound man’s services and will be divided among the tutors who assist at the concert.

Special Opportunity:

  • The top three performers of the concert will have a unique chance to record their song at our professional studio and have it released on both Spotify and YouTube!

Preparation Tips:

  1. Rehearsals: Encourage your child to practice their song in the weeks leading up to the concert.

  2. Song Choice: Help them select a piece they are excited about and comfortable performing.

  3. Stage Readiness: Please approach this concert with the main focus on performance. Stage presence is not as important as your performance at this concert.

We look forward to an afternoon filled with amazing performances and great music. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you there!
