Hi, I’m Flinn — born and raised in Wellington, I live and breathe music. My journey began in high school when I first picked up the guitar. That early spark soon grew into a deeper passion: not only playing, but recording, producing, and exploring what sound can do.
Music isn’t just my profession — it’s the heart of everything I do.

How I Got Started: The Rock Academy & Early Teaching
One of the first steps in my pathway as an educator was working privately, where I delivered lessons to students and learned firsthand how meaningful a well‑structured but fun approach to teaching can be. That experience shaped my philosophy:
Strong fundamentals + creativity = lessons that last.
I saw how real progress happens when students are excited and supported.
My Current Journey: Studying, Performing & Experimenting
I’m currently a student at Massey University, diving deeper into music, theory, and new tools in production. But I don’t just learn — I also perform and experiment:
You’ll find me playing live at local Wellington venues, seeking connection with audiences
In the studio, I’m constantly exploring new soundscapes, recording techniques, and musical ideas
Every performance, every session, every experiment helps me grow — and helps me bring more to my students
Teaching Philosophy: What You’ll Get in My Lessons
I believe that music lessons should be fun, flexible, and tailored. My approach is:
Solid foundations: good technique, ear training, music theory — the building blocks
Creative growth: guiding you toward your own style, helping you experiment
Student-centred pacing: whether you’re a complete beginner or already strumming confidently
Real-world application: performance skills, recording, song arrangement
If you’re just starting out, we’ll begin simply. If you already play, I’ll work with where you are and push you forward.
Why Choose Me as Your Guitar Teacher?
Local & passionate: Wellington is home, and my goal is to build strong local musical communities
Broad musical experience: from live stages to studios, from performance to production
Growth mindset: I’m always learning, always curious — I’ll pass that mindset to you
Customized lessons: no “one-size-fits-all” — each student is different, so each plan is different
