Holy Grail: Forging Their Sound at Rock Academy

Holy Grail: Forging Their Sound at Rock Academy

At Rock Academy Band School, we’re proud to support young musicians as they grow in skill, confidence, and creativity. One band that truly embodies this journey is Holy Grail—a dedicated group of students who continue to develop their sound through commitment, collaboration, and live performance.

Holy Grail is made up of Leo on vocals and guitar, Jonty on drums, Tane on keyboards, and Will on guitar. Together, they bring energy, focus, and a strong sense of teamwork to every rehearsal and performance.

From Practice Room to Recording Studio

The band has already reached an exciting milestone, having recorded two original singles. Recording is a huge step for any young band, requiring not only musical ability but also patience, listening skills, and attention to detail. Holy Grail approached the process with maturity and enthusiasm, translating their rehearsal-room chemistry into polished recorded tracks.

These recordings mark an important chapter in their development and showcase how far they’ve come since first coming together at Rock Academy.

Taking the Stage with Confidence

Holy Grail has also performed numerous times at the Rock Academy band concerts, gaining valuable live experience along the way. Each performance has helped the band build confidence, refine their stage presence, and connect with audiences.

Live shows are an essential part of the Rock Academy experience, and Holy Grail continues to rise to the challenge—supporting one another on stage and growing stronger with every set.

Commitment to Growth

The band continues to practice once a week at our band school on Cuba Street, Wellington, demonstrating real dedication to their craft. Weekly rehearsals allow the group to sharpen their musicianship, develop new material, and strengthen their communication as a band.

This consistency is key. It’s where ideas turn into songs, nerves turn into confidence, and individual players become a unified group.

Looking Ahead

Holy Grail’s journey is a great example of what can happen when young musicians are given the right environment to learn, collaborate, and perform. With their growing catalogue of recorded music, live performance experience, and ongoing commitment to practice, the future looks bright for this band.

We’re excited to see where Holy Grail goes next—and proud to be part of their musical journey at Rock Academy.
